Incentive Stock Option

Incentive Stock Options (ISOs) are a type of stock option which is taxed at the long-term capital gains rate, provided the options are held for more than a year from the date they are received by the holder. ISOs are commonly issued to founders and other startup employees. ISOs are designed to incentivize key employees to stay with the company for a minimum amount of time.
