Comprehensive data protection regulations enacted in the European Union in 2016, going into effect on May 25, 2018 designed to codify rules relating to the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and rules relating to the free movement of personal data. The GRPD is landmark legislation that outlines the rights of natural persons and obligations of those who collect and use personal data.
